Product Description

Continuous Wave (CW) Green Laser

Product Overview

The Continuous Wave (CW) Green Laser is a versatile, stable laser source delivering constant output at 532 nm (green wavelength). Unlike pulsed lasers that emit energy in discrete bursts, CW lasers provide a steady, uninterrupted beam — making them ideal for applications requiring consistent illumination, high stability, and precise power control.

Operating at 532 nm — the frequency-doubled output of 1064 nm Nd-based solid-state or fiber lasers — the CW green laser offers superior absorption characteristics for a wide range of materials, particularly high-reflectivity metals such as copper, gold, and aluminum. With output powers ranging from a few milliwatts for laboratory applications to over 100 watts for industrial processing, CW green lasers are available in multiple platform configurations to suit diverse user requirements.

The technology is primarily implemented in two architectures:

  • DPSS (Diode-Pumped Solid-State) lasers, offering exceptional beam quality (M² <1.1) and low optical noise

  • Fiber lasers, providing higher power scalability, maintenance-free operation, and compact form factors

Applications

The CW Green Laser is a true multi-purpose tool, serving a diverse range of industries with its stable, continuous output and 532 nm wavelength characteristics:

Scientific Research & Life Sciences

  • Ti:Sapphire Laser Pumping — The 532 nm CW green laser is the standard pump source for Ti:sapphire oscillators, widely used in ultrafast and tunable laser systems

  • DNA Sequencing & Flow Cytometry — High stability and low noise enable precise fluorescence excitation for genomic analysis and cell sorting

  • Confocal Microscopy & Spectroscopy — Diffraction-limited beam quality and low noise are essential for Raman spectroscopy, fluorescence microscopy, and interferometry

  • Holography & Metrology — Single-frequency versions provide coherence lengths >50 meters, enabling high-precision interference measurements

Industrial Materials Processing

  • High-Reflectivity Metal Welding — The 532 nm wavelength is absorbed up to 8× more efficiently than 1 µm infrared lasers in pure copper, enabling stable, spatter-free welding of copper, gold, and aluminum alloys in EV battery and electronics manufacturing

  • Semiconductor Chip-to-Wafer Bonding — High-power CW green lasers offer a precision alternative to traditional wire bonding processes

  • Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) — CW green lasers enable high-density printing of pure copper and other highly reflective materials

  • Photovoltaic Solar Cell Manufacturing — Visible wavelength offers precise scribing and structuring capabilities for thin-film solar cells

Medical & Life Sciences

  • Ophthalmology — 532 nm green light is preferentially absorbed by hemoglobin, making it effective for retinal photocoagulation, treating diabetic retinopathy and other vascular eye conditions

  • Dermatology — Used for treating vascular lesions, port-wine stains, and other dermal conditions

  • Flow Cytometry & Cell Sorting — Enables high-throughput cellular analysis and separation in clinical diagnostics

Other Key Sectors
